The Typewriter Diary

Updated: Nov 12, 2021

Welcome to the start of a new chapter, let’s get a little personal, I am divorced, with a toddler, living my best life. I’m a bit unorthodox, I like to swear, eat a lot of cereal, and listen to an unhealthy amount of Taylor Swift. I created this space to continue to be honest and authentically who I am, to share my unwavering sarcasm, my love of music, the beauty industry, and books, among other things. I have lovingly named this blog The Typewriter Diaries, for a number of reasons. Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with typewriters. I now own a 1950’s era Royal which is literally my favorite possession. When I was 12 I asked my Dad for a typewriter for my birthday which he oddly enough agreed to. I started making pretend newspapers for my family to read, and my love of writing was born.

I am a huge advocate for the mental health community as I am a founding member. I say that because I have been showing up in full armor to take on my mind for quite some time. That’s one topic I will talk about pretty frequently, so buckle up friends, it might get a little weird around here. I’m also a hopeless romantic, I’m talking, let’s dance in the rain, kiss under the stars, read poetry to each other, sappy, often times over the top, flair for the romantic-dramatics, type. Love is such a fascinating emotion to me, and I’ve always believed that it holds some type of magic. You’ll find that expressed in my poetry more often than not, I’m a big, here hold my feelings because they are too heavy, kind of poet. I feel too much all the time and have to get it out into the universe, it’s a whole thing.

My first anthology Feeling Out Loud which is basically my heart bleeding onto the pages, was released on April 2, 2020. That’s been such a huge combination of nerves, happiness, tears, and fear. Putting something out into the world that is basically showing everyone what a vulnerable soul you have, kind of makes you want to hide somewhere until people forget that you released a book in the first place. Yikes. Not to mention I wrote, designed, and self-published everything, so even the tiniest flaw screams at me. You can find it on Amazon in paperback and e-book formats if you’re interested!

Well, ya’ll, welcome to the tangled chaos that tumbles around my mind, here’s to new things.
